I would agree Hostel was wildly overrated, I saw it this past weekend. It was not shocking, and the gruesome scenes were short and unimaginative.
It was really an excuse for lots of tits!

Worth a watch then...
I will admit that the scene I saw, were some guy randomly cuts off a womens dangling eye ball with a pair of scissors (cue pus???) was a little over the top.
But I guess thats what it takes to get recognition these days - even though pointless gore has been a staple of the low budget horror flick since time immemorial. However, it's hard to refer to Hostel as 'low budget' when you consider the extreme (no pun intended) PR campaign it has enjoyed.
