Tail guns Ammo expenditure

Do the tail guns use 1 or 2 boxes of ammo everytime they fire? I've been marking down 1 box and haven't even come close to using half the ammo. Reading the dmg chart for the waist section, I get the idea that 2 boxes should be checked off per firing...w/ 6 for spray fire...comments?

I don't think it's remotely possible to use all the tail ammo in a mission. Well, maybe with spray fire.

It's been a while, but I think I came to the conclusion that one box represented 25 rounds per gun by comparing the original B-17 charts to acutal ammunition loads. I don't remember where I got this, but I think Lancasters carried 10,000 rounds for the tail guns, or 2500 rounds per gun, or 100 boxes.

25 rounds per box.

Hi Eric,

I came to the same conlclusion while I was working on B-26, so it seems that 25 rounds per box would be correct.

Magnus.
