Flak
Mission brief lists flak as Nil, light, moderate or heavy.
Aircraft coned by searchlights add 1 to the flak strength roll, however we can't do this if we don't know the Ops officers roll at mission generation. I used a simple 50/50 for Leipzig to see if M-Mary's being coned by searchlights made any difference to the amount of stuff aimed at us - and fortunately rolled low (I think I got two 6s all evening).
Could we get a "Flak: Moderate (5)" at breifing or should we use the 50/50 chance as to whether it makes a difference? (Of course No flak will always become Light)

Re: Flak
I use the 50/50 idea myself. That's one of the options I've listed on the quick reference page, and it seems statistically equivalent to the original intent of the rules. The other option is to roll a fourth time on the original column. I don't know where that idea came from--I have a feeling this has been discussed already, but I can't find it anywhere.
The "Moderate (5)" idea is fine, except I don't actually roll dice to determine the flak intensity. I have a little program that does all the randomization and generates the mission briefing page, so I'm afraid I don't know what the "die roll" was, either.
(Of course, one of my pet peeves is people, typically customer service representatives, blaming computers for their own inability to be helpful. If the "Moderate (5)" idea has a lot of support, I could certainly alter the program to provide that information.)
I might need to add "Nil always becomes Light" as a reminder to the Quick Reference Page. Thanks for mentioning it.
