Show me the shine! Here is a picture of my engine bay. It took a few hours to clean but i think it is worth the effort.
The V6 is a hidden gem deserves the same cleaning treatment as your car paintwork. But never ever steam clean or use a jetwash on the engine, it can kill a V6!! The best way to clean the rocker cover is to remove it and spray it with oven cleaner (Mr Muscle here in the UK), wait 10 minutes and rinse with clean water. The throttle body can be cleaned in the same way but wipe it down will a damp sponge to remove the cleaner. A good quality metal polish will revive the intake pipes and make them shine! Finally, the plastic surround can be darkened using bumper polish/reviver. Hope this helps
Re: Show me the shine! Holy!!! Look at that shine coming of those pipes. It's a shame they are hidden under the hood most of the time. You sure inspire me to improve on mine especially on the details like udner the fuel rail and below the injectors

Wat niet tutti originali? Deze 166 is hartstikke origineel!
Re: Show me the shine! Wow guys, nice engine bays! If you look carefully you can spot some differences on the engines. Mine is a 2001 engine, look at the connectors on the fuel rail. Mine are plastic but yours are metal. Also look at the throttle housing, looks totally different. Alfa must have been refining the engine all the time! Its a shame they dont make it anymore
Re: Show me the shine! Tjeerd, why are your injectors different from the other two (all the cabling on the front cover)? Is that a tuning upgrade?
Ton, je koelwatertankontluchtslangklemmetje zit niet goed vast. Is een beetje incontinent
Who is that mistious guy with the pink T-shirt whe made both pictures of Ton and Midlifecrisis´s cars? You can clearly identify him in the beautifully polished inlet pipes, but not recognisible.....
But......: perfect engine bays guys! Much better than my tractor compartment....
Re: Show me the shine! And i notice Tjeerd has removed the resonator box and has a straight pipe direct from the air filter. Does this have an effect on the exhaust note?
