My other Alfa. Hello again, I know this is a 166 forum but I actually own a Rosso 147. Its a 1.6 Twinspark with 120BHP. Its a cracking engine that revs like crazy. Very fast on the pickup and no loss of revs when changing gear. Its a great drive and really sticks to the road. Dare I say it but I think the twinspark is more fun than the V6!
Re: My other Alfa. Also a nice car the 147!
Nothing wrong with it. To say it's even more fun than the V6 is perhaps not quit right.
Try a 147 GTA it would say, than you can compare
V6 comparing with a TS is not possible I would say. Completly different engines.
Than there is the weight difference between the 166 ande the 147. That alone makes the 147 more a "plaything" than the 166.
But we have as second car for my wife an 145 1.4 TS Junior and that is also more a playting than the 166.
When in the mood (and the wife does not now it) I sometimes can try out the 145....sticking to road you said...well, the 145 also does that.
Completly different cars, different engines, different weightclasses....everything is different. That makes it such a fun to stap in to a "smaller" Alfa and drive it than completly else than the 166.
The one under the carport is from my wife, the 1.4, the one standing under the sky is from my son, a 1.8 TS.
He has tuned his 145 on some point, other wheels, lowered it, etc.
I don't have pictures of that for you. Sri.
Re: My other Alfa. Wow Ton, another alfa family. I agree with you on the engines. They are very different, but both have that Alfa rev happy nature. I have driven many cars but the Alfa Romeo engine is unique. The twinspark still has power at 7000 revs when many cars run out of power at 5000 revs. The V6 also has power, that surge when the V6 reaches 5000 is brilliant. Handling wise the 147 is very good, but like you say its much lighter than the 166 so comparisons are not fair
