Eminem 'recovering from depression'
Eminem has reportedly been suffering from depression after his best friend was shot dead and he divorced his wife Kim for the second time.
The star's spokesman told the New York Daily News he was getting better with the help of antidepressants.
According to the newspaper, the rapper slumped into a depression more than two months ago, after his former D12 bandmate Proof was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.
He and his wife split again around the same time.
But Eminem is now said to be on the mend and emerging from the low patch.
"Obviously, he's grieving," spokesman Dennis Dennehy told the newspaper.
"He is depressed as anyone would be if they lost someone that close.
"He had announced he was taking time off before this happened. It's his downtime.
