4 brothers at Gallipoli - Longworth

Research has shown that my Grandfathers 4 brothers were all at Gallipoli at the same time.

Francis(1st LH), Archibald (6th LH), George (6th LH) and Hugh Longworth (6th LH) were all there during October 1915. Was this a rare occurrence or were there other families with similar efforts? My Grandfather also enlisted in 1918 but saw no action.

Interested to hear your comments.

regards

Greg

Re: 4 brothers at Gallipoli - Longworth

Hi Greg

It was not that common but it did occur.
There was the Curlewis brothers. 4 landed at Gallipoli on April 25th, 3 with the 16th Bn & 1 with the 12th Bn. Only 1 brother survived.

Another family I've been researching are the Wheeler's.
All 6 brothers served at Gallipoli, 5 with the 16th Bn & 1 with the 10th LH.

Regards
Andrew
