In Flanders Fields
Last night I had the honour of opening the Dubbo Art Gallery's exhibition of the illustrations from "In Flanders Fields", which won the 2003 Children's Picture book of the Year. I was invited to give a talk on Flanders and WWI, but also talked about the close links between the Diggers and the Arts in WWI and in the post-war years. The talk was very popular, which was a relief, as I do not make a habit of opening art exhibitions!!
