Light Horse in Northern Tasmania


Lighthorse

I am looking for information on the lighthorse in Northern Tasmania prior to WW1 mainly around Ulverstone. Would really like a list of members

The units prior to WWI in Tasmania were 1903 - 1912 12th light horse and 1913 (until units were re numbered in 1918 26th Light Horse (Tasmanian Mounted Infantry) The WWI unit from Tas was part of 3rd Light Horse with South Australia

As far as a list of members goes,,,,, if its like the Militia in the rest of Australia there is no such thing. Your only hope is that if you are researching a person who joined up in WWI it may be on their attestation papers or you may find something in local newspapers

Doug Wyatt recently published a book on the LH.

I have some photos from the NW troop but taken mostly after the Great War
