Well, it seems you've faced the English wrath already, Geoff. My money's on you having survived it!

Yes- Have survived, just- I hate loosing to England, even more than the Kiwis I think.

Just not comfortable with England beating Australia. I faced the nightmare years of the All Black in the 1980's, so I suppose I can live with this now.

Well done England, well done Australia, what a game!

I can take losing to England, even the Kiwis but I hope we always beat South Africa in everything we play them at.

I am hearing on the grapevine that this book contains some factual errors, based on the authors misunderstanding of units and events.

I have not got the book so I cannot verify.

The latest Angus and Robertson cattle dog promotes this book as " For the first time, the Gallipoli story is told in the words of the ordinary soldiers fighting in the trenches."
The cover shot shows four or five Diggers in a trench, but embossed around the image is "Australian War Memorial - Reproduction Not Permitted."
A bit strange I thought.

Geoff S: I have read some of the good doctor's (King) obituaries to World War One men, and in some cases elements of fiction had been introduced.
He came to prominence back in 1988 (remember the Bicentenary) when he was part of the First Fleet re-enactment.
I think he has the idea that he will be 'leading the landing' at Gallipoli on 25 April 2015.
Time will only tell.
Iam also thinking that Dr King may be English born.
Will check on that one, but I know he put out a CD rom series a few years ago for Websters Encyclopaedias.

I read the following in the 'Public Announcements' in yesterday's Newcastle 'Herald':
"ANTIQUES, WINE TASTING & AUTHOR SIGNING"
At new Antique shop 69 Cowper Street Stroud. Meet Johnathon King. Best selling historic Author Sunday 24th 1.30-3.30pm."

Is anybody aware of a new publication from Dr King, or perhaps he is still pushing his Gallipoli book?
