Soldier search - ready to give up!
After searching every database I am asking if anyone can find my grandfathers records. He served in the anzac's in WW1, possibly mounted.
His name was George Theodore FORD, born 1891, London, England. He returned to England before the end of the war and joined the army there.

Re: Soldier search - ready to give up!
A little more information may help such as what state he signed up in or was living and what his father's/mother's/wife's name was. There are 43 George FORD's at the NAA but no George Theodore there are 5 George's born in the UK.
If he rejoined in the English Army you might finds some clues on one of the other war forums.
If you think he was in the mounted infantry perhaps checking with the Light Horse forum may help.
There is also the possibility that he may have signed up in Australia under another name or that the authorities spelt his name wrong.
Bright Blessings
Sandra
