Ross H Mudge 2/3 Pioneer Batn, Executed 1943
Hello,
Last year I purchased a 1943 calendar/song book handed out to POW’s by the Vatican. Inside were a number of names of Kiwi, Brits and Aussie POW’s. One of these, Ross H Mudge nx54257, died 13 November 1943 in Italy. According to the Australian War Memorial web sight he was executed. There is a digital copy of his service file on the National Achieves of Australia web sight but there is no mention of his execution. Does anyone have any information on this chap? I would like to find out all I can on him and confirm his execution and find out the reason why. Any information would be gratefully received.
Ross Harold Mudge, NX 54257, Pte, 2/3Pioneer Battalion, DOB 06/02/1920, Enlist 24/01/1940.
