Questions about your site
Hello, I found your site through the Lighthorse site. It took me a couple of tries to register on your site. Why is there restricted access to some forums eg the biography of contributors. How do you become a member?
My interest has developed throught my GG Uncle who was fatally wounded at Polygon Wood on 26th September, 1917 and now has his name on Menin Gate with the 6177 (approx, does anyone know the exact figure of Australians) other Australians who have no known gravesite. I know through accessing the eye witness accounts of his death that he was buried by his mates 'roughly in a shell hole' where he fell at dusk, just as the first stage of the battle was won. I also have a recent digital photo of his name on Menin Gate that a contact I found emailed me, that was a thrill. As a result I become much more interested in WW1 history and forums like this one.
