Straight outta Creekside... OFFICER KICKS / CITYWIDE CURFEW
OFFICER KICKS
"No-nonsense killer tunes" (Clash Magazine)
Following the amazing acclaim for their debut album, The Six Grand Plot, last year. British rock outfit, Officer Kicks, release their new album, Citywide Curfew later this year. “We achieved what we set out to. Musically, Sonically, Lyrically and every other ICALLY it’s our best work”. The first single will be the live favourite - even if experienced for the first time! - Tom Thumb.
Already, feedback on the new LP and their growing live reputation - “Inspiring, uplifting, classic” (GigWise) - is winning hot gigs, cool reviews, festival slots (including the main stage of Secret Garden Party with Jarvis Co cker), football ground plays and a word of mouth following. They’ve just picked up USA radio, cool LA management and more exciting news to announce soon. Possibly the best kept secret in rock right now, Officer Kicks are NOT to be missed at close range.
Some recent press:
"Super spiky rock'n'roll with plenty of attitude... Their name should be a lot more familiar by the end of the year"
(Sunday Express Newspaper, March 2009).
"Real rockers on the verge of big things... They deliver every song with the panache of a George Best hat trick... This band could be massive"
(South London Press March 2009.

04 Jun : Hoxton Underbelly
Rock/Pop
Thursday 4th June
Zigfrid Underbelly,
11 Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, London N1 6NU
(Old Street tube) rock von roll! 0871 984 2824 http://www.zigfrid.com/
Keith Wickham (drums), Mike Skorjanec (bass), Jamie Fisher (guitar/backing vocals) and Jamie Scallion (vocals) are celebrating playing together, in various line ups, for ten years.
"On the 4th June we have been playing music together for ten years. Not as Officer Kicks but since our early days. We did our first gig in 1999 at the Paradise bar in New Cross. As far as we can remember it was well attended (with people from school etc) and we were not all that good."
In October 2005, the definitive Officer Kicks line up was born and with the release of their debut album, The Six Grand Plot, last year, got off to an encouraging start, to say the very least. The new LP, Citywide Curfew, is due for release later this year but already receiving cool feedback and results. Before the first single, Tom Thumb, get your kicks.

Re: Straight outta Creekside... OFFICER KICKS / CITYWIDE CURFEW
Live review from Manchester Maps Festival
02-May-009
Now onto what I consider the best of the bands that we saw.
We ended up in Night and Day, a large venue, which was absolutely packed out and we soon found out why.
Onto the stage came Officer Kicks to rapturous applause and cheering from the crowd. After a short intro song, mainly to cover the sound check, the gig then kicked off to full effect.
The enigmatic and humorous lead singer, Jamie Scallion, seemed to take over the whole stage with his presence & you found yourself watching his hypnotic performance intensely. Accompanied by a highly skilled guitarist, bassist and drummer the songs were both catchy and melodic.
With songs like Pictures of Me and Nip'n'Tuck it’s no wonder that these guys have been touted as the British version of Kings of Leon. The guitarist especially, eye catching, brought a robust sound to the bands songs.
All in all this is a band who we will, I expect, be seeing more of in the future and who themselves have recently announced a Glastonbury set highlighting the bright future these guys have in front of them.
To sum it up, if Officer Kicks come to your town to play, do not - under any circumstances - miss them.
