Formed last year in the East End from a melting pot of nations and backgrounds, Brass Roots are a cross between an ecclectic DJ set played by a band, and a carnival.
They present popular tunes in a unique format which challenges the live music experience as much as the Houses Of Westminster challenge belief.
Their laid back party at http://www.myspace.com/brassroots (including a version of Karma Police by Radiohead that will make you grin). In fact BRASS ROOTS' feel good factor means they're playing every day at this year's Glastonbury Festival. Experience them at closer range this weekend for free!
The Sunday Sessions are an escape from the sofa on a Sunday afternoon for anybody and everybody. The Albany has invited some of the most acclaimed and talented contemporary jazz musicians to the Albany Cafe stage to perform their awesome shows.
The fully licensed cafe itself serves home made cakes, hot meals, soups, salads, fair trade teas and coffee. The cafe and it's lovely garden are fully accessible, child friendly and have free wi-fi internet access inside and out.
Come to Deptford, it's lovely this time of year.
(Sunday afternoon, that is).
