PROBABLY THE MOST EXPERIMENTAL EVENT DURING ARTFUL - IT WILL TAKE IT'S SHAPE, FORM, AND DOCUMENTATION FROM THE PEOPLE THAT PARTICIPATE AS AUDIENCE, PERFORMERS, CREATORS - A LIVING INSTALLATION SNAPSHOT OF AN AFTERNOON ON PLANET WATER Intimate, involving performances by DEXY + REDVERS BAILEY + RUFUS MILLER, Visual entertainment by THE BLUE LIGHT DISTRICT, documenting on film is DIGITAL SNEAKERS, photography by Kye Corfield, Satoko Owada, spoken word from LEE HODGKINSON & DAN BRODERICK and more on board daily... (Meet mid day for set ups etc.) followed by DANCING IN OUTER SPACE - I kid you not! It's the launch of a Cosmic Disco!!! It worked such a charm that he's consistently offered shows, and this year has played festivals (including the same bill as Dylan), played with Paul Draper (Mansun), and appears on the acclaimed Once Upon Another Time compilation. There's an album due in 007, but this is a chance to get the live experience up close and personal. http://www.myspace.com/redversbailey RUFUS MILLER also has a unique style and recently stormed the Panda-Power-Parties launch at New Cross Inn where his progressive and mesmerising performance earned him roaring applause at the end of his set. There's music. There's words. There's vibe... Imagine Planet Water. Glam Not Glum. Arts Not Arms. Come and hang out. Various members of EMPTY VESSELS, THE VEEZ, LOVE MINUS ZERO, SEEING SCARLET etc in the house DIGITAL SNEAKERS helped put NX/Rocklands on the map in the first rock'n'rolling place! (Special Needs, Twisted Charm, Bloc Party, Art Brut, New Rhodes etc), been acclaimed by/shown on MTV2, just made ther first film, screened at ICA, Curzon Soho, National Film Theatre, Edinburgh Festival and more. They also run The Film Nights monthly, and are recruiting new writers, photographers, film makers, promoters and more to South East London’s fastest growing arts networking collective (12,000 hits last month alone! http://www.thebluelightdistrict.com Photographers include KYE CORFIELD (seeking good bands, for his portfolio - man, check out the photos at http://www.myspace.com/kyestyley ) and SATOKO OWADA whose photographs of cult rock band, Mansun adorn their official Japanese zine and greatest hits collection Plus whichever musicians, promoters, DJs, artists (come and do a bit of life drawing if you fancy it) experience the reality of the parallel dimension of music life. It’s accidentally free entry (I meant to say £2 to Chey from the Live Bar when he was making up the flyers, but my brain wasn’t in and now it says free in the flyer and it’s all my - Caffy, typist - fault), but there’s an optional £2 towards the cost of the performers, film etc from audience. The entertainment is more than worth that. If you’ve been to a Music Tourist Board get together before you’ll know that ideas and involvement in anything are most welcome. If not, come and enjoy.
