THOM YORKE RESPONDS TO GALLAGHER
Thom Yorke has given a brief response to Noel Gallagher's recent criticism
of him and his band. If you remember, Gallagher said: "No matter how much you sit their twiddling, going, 'We're all doomed,' at the end of the day people will always want to hear you play 'Creep'. Get over it",
and continued
"I never went to f ucking university. I don't know what a paint brush is; I never went to art school". Yorke's response was as follows: "I did. It taught me to respect other artists".
I'm afraid that might have been a bit too subtle for Gobby
Gallagher, Thom.

SOMEONE'S BROTHER CALLS DONNY A TWAT
Paul Gallagher, brother of Liam and Noel, has said that Towers Of London's
Donny Tourette is a wannabe Liam. Gallagher says of the singer: "He wants
to be Liam but he's just a posh twat. He aint no star. And that whole Big
Brother thing - a load of s h i t."

WAGS BATTLE OVER TAKE THAT AND PARTIES
Coleen Mcloughlin, famous for being footballer Wayne Rooney's fiance, is
apparently deeply pissed off that Take That refused to play a set at a 21st
birthday party she is planning for April, but that Gary Barlow has agreed to
perform solo at fellow WAG Alex Curran's wedding to Steven Gerrard in June.
Take That said they couldn't play Coleen's party because they won't be in
the country so I don't know why she's taking it so personally. Perhaps it's
just some WAG rivalry thing that I just don't understand.
Anyway, a 'source' told The People: "Coleen is miffed. She really wanted
Take That to play at her party but the lads knocked her back. Now she hears
her pal Alex is bragging she and Steven have got Gary. It's the ultimate in
one-upmanship".

KELE BLOC PARTY HITS BACK AT LIAM
As you all know, Liam Gallagher is no fan of Bloc Party, recently dismissing
them as "a band off University Challenge". Because anyone with an education
is naturally bereft of musical talent, obviously, and only people who don't
read books, like Liam Gallagher, are capable of making nice tunes.
Anyway, Bloc Party's Kele Okereke has hit back with some frankly intelligent
comments about why Oasis suck. The singer, a London King's College graduate,
told Uncut: "I think Oasis are the most over-rated and pernicious band of
all time. They had a totally negative and dangerous impact upon the state of
British music. They have made stupidity hip. They claim to be inspired by
the Beatles but, and this so saddens me, they have failed to grasp that the
Beatles were about constant change and evolution. Oasis are repetitive
Luddites."
Prompted to remark on Liam's University Challenge comment, Okereke said:
"Well, it's quite funny. It probably would have been a lot more funny had he
not used exactly the same words to describe Travis a couple of years ago."
He continued: "Having said that, it's probably a very sad indication of the
state of his mind. Why is it bad to better yourself? It's all about the
weird way in which this country chooses to view the working classes. It is
really daft to reinforce the idea that there is something cool about being
dumb. The idea that your ambitions shouldn't extend beyond getting drunk and
watching the football really irks me. It's this idea that to be
authentically working class you need to be untainted by the airy-fairy
ephemera of education. And it seems to be pretty unique to this country".
Yeah, Gallagher. What he said.

RAKES ATTACK POLITICALLY INCLINED CELEBS
The Rakes have attacked those sort of celebrities who get mouthy about
politics. I think they might be making a distinction between those who
clearly have their own opinions and agenda, and those who are idiot
opportunists, but I'm honestly not that sure.
It all relates to the band's new single 'The World Was A Mess But His Hair
Was Perfect', which is all about one of these pseudo political types.
Frontman Alan Donohue says: "You get people like Peter Andre on Top of the
Pops trying to tell Tony Blair how to dictate foreign policy, it's like 'oh
my god!' The song is based on those sort of airheads who jumped on the
bandwagon, you know when it was a bit cool to be political for a minute".

GALLAGHER ON HOW HE'D RESPOND TO ANDRE APPROACH
So, a new ITV mobile show called The Hot Desk asked Liam Gallagher if he got
text messages from Trevor McDonald, Peter Andre and Dolly Parton all
proposing a collaboration who would he call back, who would he text and who
would he ignore?
He said he'd called Trevor, ignore Dolly and text Pete, though he added:
"The only reason I'd text Peter Andre is to say, 'What the **** are you on
about man? Where'd you get my ****ing number from, you ****ing pikey ****?'"
Which isn't going to help today's CMU Daily get through any servers with
'profanity filters'.
