OLYMPUS MONS
Olympus Mons (Latin, "Mount Olympus") is the tallest known volcano and mountain in our solar system, located on the planet Mars. It's three times the height of Mount Everest.
The two-step alternative pop outfit are Olympus Mons are Aaron (Vocals and Guitar), Norbert (Bass and Vocals) and Moran (Drums).
The Band formed beginning of 005 and since then have played over 80 gigs all around the UK and Europe including gigs with the Delays, the Maccabees, Babyshambles, Mohair, Client, De Rosa, the Dogs and many more.
There are 5 demos and an EP with in total 17 Songs recorded, about 30 Songs ready to record and many more written.
Jangly guitar parts that at times seem to emulate two different melodies and quirky yet soulful singing that is rooted somewhere in between Robert Smith, Burning Spear and the Buzz****s. A driving rhythm section always in between raw aggression and rhythms that make your legs shake completes it. The lyrics are of every day experiences reaching from a girl dumping him by text message to a good friend dying because of drug abuse.
In 2006 they entered a couple of competitions and won all of them. So now are winners of the Fopp Award for New Music, the 3 Student Music Awards and were named Best Unsigned Band in Britain by Playmusic.
