Since February 2005, The Wolfgang Bopp collective have crystalised the vision of a geriatric alpine gardener to create the sort of eccentric shin-digs which have come to be cherished by the good people of New Cross and beyond.
We have played host to all manner of leftfield, underground indie shenanigans in the cluttered wonderland that is the Montague Arms, and also made forays in to Brixton, Surrey Quays and Central London.
Our list of alumni is as long as an Orangutans arm and includes,Vincent Vincent and the Villains, Caribou, Larrikin Love, The Sunshine Underground, Jeremy Walmsley, Tilly and the Wall, Semifinalists, Ladyfuzz, Bromheads Jacket, Hot Club De Paris, Metronomy, The Shortwave Set, Xerox Teens, Pull Tiger Tail and many more.
We will continue to plough our furrow until we are the same age as The Montague bar staff.

MAPS 23 OUT NOW
Not content with doubling their readership in December, Maps Magazine continues to excel with hot new bands and cool new ideas. Get involved, NOW!
The new issue of Maps is online now, featuring the following musical delights for your delectation:
• Shifty Disco is 10: We celebrate the veteran indie’s first decade with an interview with head honcho Dave Newton
• OK Go: Talk about the Grammies, and dancing on treadmills in front of Justin Timberlake + we review their recent Koko show with Quit Your Day Job
• Live reviews of Klaxons, Subliminal Girls + Califone
• Downloads: The Violets new video + an entire EP from The Sailplanes
• Doing It For Themselves - ¡Forward Russia!, The Violets + The Total Drop take matters into their own hands
• New albums reviewed, including The Piskie Sits, Tap Tap, Black Cherry, The Little Ones + Seagull Strange
• New singles from Future of the Left, The Shins, The Knife, Assembly Now, The Earlies, We Are The Physics, Open Mouth, Dexy, Voltage Union, Grand Prix ’86, Wojtek Godzisz, Prinzhorn Dance School, F451, Honeytrap, The Maple State + Mad Staring Eyes
Catch it all at http://www.mapsmagazine.co.uk
If you get an opportunity to let people know through your Myspace, mailing list, website or forum, it would be massively appreciated. (so cut this and paste it folks, otherwise be on 'tinternet! - mtb)
PLUS
Unsigned Bands Wanted
We're looking for bands for a new regular feature on Maps, which will be along the lines of an online battle of the bands (albeit with a bit of a twist).
The competition will be decided using an online voting system, and is open to unsigned bands or solo artists from anywhere in the world.
If you're interested in finding out more, email Paul Maps with a link to your website or Myspace page via paulmaps at mapsmagazine dot co dot uk
AND
Bands – We Want your Downloads
We're hoping to include more downloads on the site, so we're looking for bands, signed or unsigned who'd like to have their videos/mp3s, etc featured on Maps.
If you've got something you'd like us to include, give me an email with a link to the download online, or just attach it to the email.
ALSO
Regional Writers/Photographers/Artists Wanted
We are on the lookout for writers and photographers from all corners of the British Isles.
We're particularly (but not exclusively) looking for people in the following areas:
> Wales
> Scotland
> Birmingham
> Leeds / Sheffield
> Nottingham
> Manchester
> Liverpool
> South Coast
> Oxford
> Norwich
> Bristol
If you have a passion for new music, a way with words (or pixels), and would like to be sent free cds, get into gigs for free, discover new music and meet some of your favourite bands, get in touch by replying to this message with some examples of your work.
Paul
