Good News!! AU tags are on the highways
Special Tag unit informed the AAC last week that they have already ordered 3,000 more Auburn Club Special Tags to be pressed!!! (and to think, last week was only the second official week of the AU tag's issue!!)
Once these are made, that will put us at a total of 5,300!!!....
Thanks to EVERYONE for supporting this license plate effort!!!
The AAC has gotten great feedback from everyone who has received their tag!!! I think it's safe to say we won't have to worry about maintaining a minimum of 1,000 renewals every year.
WAR EAGLE!!!!!

Re: UPDATE!!! more than 4,000 now on the roads!!!
Email from the Special Tag Unit to the Atlanta Auburn Club on Wednesday August 30, 2006:
"Everything is going well and the tag is selling GREAT TOO! According to the system, current issues are at 4,055."
Note from AAC: current issues means the number of tags assigned as of that hour.... this number updates every day.
Last we knew, the state had pressed 5,300 total tags, but as we posted in the "tag spotter" discussion --- we saw tag # TZ 5726 on I-75 early Sunday morning on the trip back to Atlanta from the Auburn home opener!! ...so they have obviously pressed more. Have heard that tags are also now available in DMV county offices (instead of having to be mailed out) --- not sure though if this is true for ALL DMV offices..... let us know!!

Re: Good News!! DMV already ordered 3,000 more tags!!/ UPDATE : MORE THAN 4,000 NOW ON THE ROAD!!!!
In addition to Tag 5726 --- our AAC spotters also saw LOTS of Georgia Tigers without their Auburn Club Tag
Pass the word to everyone you know!!!
All indications are that in 2007 --- the Auburn Clubs will still rule the roads in Georgia i.e. other school clubs not likely to follow until 2008....
