Next Season
Having read the 'Officers Statement' I am of the opinion that they have been bold to go for two divisions. I'm sure there will be those who will be negative but I believe that their action will result in two very competitive divisions and with promotion / relegation back it will maintain interest to the end of the season. Clubs will have much more to play for now.
Congratulations for being imaginative, forward thinking and making a decision for the benefit of the league as a whole.
On this occasion I'll keep the cards in my pocket.

Re: Next Season
This is a a great step forward, more competitive and surely will be more enjoyable by the teams. Obviously someone has given a lot of thought to how the league may be more attractive. Let's hope it eventually attracts more members.

Re: Next Season
hi all , i couldnt agree more two divisions more cups just cant wait for it to all start over again , the lesser teams will enjoy it a lot more and the so called better sides will have to be up for it every week and cant take any game lightly will we see certain sides havin bigger squads so as to be able to field a side every week in case a few players go on the lash

Re: Next Season
So Finchy, having managed to get the league officers on his side, managed to have his proposal for two divisions and more cup competitions accepted by a majority of the clubs. I, like many, believe that it is a good move and I know, having spoken to him, that he hopes it will attract interest and the league membership will increase. Only time will tell.

Re: Next Season
With the new set up. You could play a team 5 times in the season. I enjoy watching sunday football and will miss going to all the teams this year. I am also concerned that as in the past teams will drop out and this leaves a division very small indeed. I would have favoured playing one league till the mid point in the season, and then splitting if necessary.
I know this set up could have a huge financial impact on the dragon due to their pitch contract.
IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T TRY AND FIX IT

Re: Next Season
I can only assume that the majority of the membership thought it was time for a change, according to the news page 13 were in favour and only four against. It was put to the vote and I for one believe it to be a positive move. If the the clubs handn't wanted to change they could have thrown it out. And what has the Dragon's financial arrangements got to do with other clubs and the league? Your idea is a non-starter, even I know that the County FA would not allow one division to start with and deviding it in two mid-season. Yes, they probably do know that this is a huge gamble, but lets be positive and give it a chance. Even the 'old man' who pushed for the change is proving he is not a 'dinosaur'!!

Re: Next Season
the dragons finances are no ones buisness and dont need to be spoken about by people who dont know what they are talking about. The point i made at the AGM was that as Mr Barretto from Tugas UTD approached Elveden Estates behind my back and wrongly informed them of SFC Green Dragons position i am no longer able to for want of a better word sell my pitch. My point was that if 2 divisions meant we would play less games our cost per game would increase simple as that and as always some people seem to be able to do what ever they choose to keep teams in this league.

Re: Next Season
Well we at Breckland Spirit voted against. I voiced my concerns as did a few other members at the meeting but the vote was carried. It's fair enough, a vote is all i asked.
My main concerns really come from a few seasons ago when i ran my own side and we had 2 divisons of 7 and 6. 1 team folded, leaving 6 and 6. The main problems were really the repetitive nature of playing the same sides. As it stands we are facing the prospect of playing Feltwell and Railway 5 times each at the moment, that not including the Florida cup draw or the unlikely chance of us meeting in the County Cup. There is also the risk that should any team from either division drop out, which could be seen by some as unlikely, you are left with a division of 5!!
Like i say this is nothing new to those who attended the agm. I raised these issues and the vote went as it did. I can't blame those teams who voted the other way. Each member has their own opinion. Just thought i'd share mine.
Let's hope for an enjoyable season.
