Season Predictions

With the format for the coming season decided and the first round draw for the Florida Trophy known, plus the groups for the Bill Cox and Pat Balaam trophies; now is the time for you experts to predict who will win what? Don't forget the teams eliminated from the Florida in rounds one and two will compete for the Presidents Shield.

Re: Season Predictions

I think we will get more of an idea of the strength of potential challengers from both divisions when the club squad lists are made public, it will be interesting to see where the players from Shadwell and TS&SC will end up. Some div 1 sides have already picked up a few and I am aware a few from Shadwell may well be heading into division two and could make a huge difference between a struggling team and a challenging one.

Re: Season Predictions

I'm told that Railway Tavern fancy their chances of a league, divisional cup and Florida cup treble, have heard it said they are boasting that they will add the County Cup as well. I'm not so sure. The squad is too small, the majority of which also play Saturdays, injuries and suspensions, which there surely will be, will take their toll.

if railway do all this with such a small squad then they deserve what ever they win just for the reason of having such a small squad good luck to them.

Re: Season Predictions

Welcome back Darkside 10. I agree, if Railway do achieve thier aim it will be well deserved. But I do believe we will see all teams drop points, and, don't be surprised if a couple of Div 2 teams cause upsets in the Florida Trophy.

Just come on to say I watch the first half of Railway Taven's game. I must say they have every right to be confident of achieving their aims, providing they remain free of injuries and suspenions.

Re: Season Predictions

yes they have got a great chance of claiming a few trophies they have by far the best squad of players but is it the best team im not sure i can see arguements a plenty there this season and so i hear already one of the players has left as he is not happy running the line and when another player heard about this he choose not go to the county cup match in case he had to run the line not a good team spirit already i see and last season the railway got lucky a few games went their way or the league would of been shadwells. The manager needs to think more about the players than himself or i can see lakenheath pipping them to the league.

The Railway's manager is very confident, I would go as far to say over confident. When in conversation with him (I've had a couple with him) during which you mention other teams qualities some of his utterings are dismissive and shows lack of respect for the other teams in the league. Not a good quality and not good for the his club.

He may be that confident and that is not necessarily a bad attitude, BUT sometimes a little humality is a good trait. I'm sure the team's players respect their opponents.
