Referee Poll To Offer Insight
Britain's former number one football referee Graham Poll will give a unique insight into the world of top-class officiating at Grass Roots Football Live (NEC). Poll who refereed in the Premier League, Champions League, European Championship and World Cup, is one of a number of leading football world at the three-day event. Now a successful media pundit, Poll will be involved in two main clinics on Saturday , June 13.
He will lead a seminar in the Boot Room entitled 'Referee - Friend or Foe'? and discuss subjets such as coaches and managers influencing referees' decisions. He will also be part of a panel on the talkSPORT Theatre with Chris Kamara and Robbie Savage debating the influence of high-profile player behaviour on the grass-roots game.
Graham said, "I am really looking forward to attending this event. As a showcase for grass-roots football, it is a great opportunity to meet, talk, and debate a wide range of subjects with the very people who ensure our national sport so popular. It is inevitable that the profile and debate surrounding referees will only continue to grow. There have been recent high-profile launches of referee recruitment programmes and it is vital to the ongoing development of our game at all levels that we have sufficient numbers of qualified referees."
