Board Elections
Our condo has not had an election in over two years. The manager selects who he wants to be on the boad. There are other infactions that this board has committed. Our bylaws do not state how to replace the entire board and fire the owner/manager. We need a lawyer. Help

Re: Board Elections
Board members are to be elected by the unit owners and not a manager. There should be an official election held - I can't understand why others allow this to happen. All unit owners have a voice to express themselves with and they don't utilize this freedom. Maybe you should speak to other owners and sign a petition to have this manager thrown out and have a valid election.

Re: Board Elections
The rules for board elections are outlined in state legislation.
The Illinois Condo Property Act outlines the legal requirements in Illinois. Just do a web search and a link will come up easily.
Your management company can be fired for breach of contract w/o a lawyer, unless they fight. A new property management company should be able to help you handle the firing of the old one.
