Tarot Statue FAQ

Tarot Statue FAQ

How big/tall will the statue be?

As of now she is roughly 23” tall with the base. The figure of Tarot w/o the base stands 21.5” tall!

How much will she cost?

Unfortunately, until she is completed, we don’t really have a price yet. She will be priced reasonably according to her size, complexity and inherent value. We will have exact pricing once we have a prototype ready to show.

How many will be available?

We are making only 200 of these available worldwide.

Why so few?

According to VARA (Visual Artist Rights Act) a piece of visual art produced in series can only be an edition of 200 or less hand signed and hand numbered in sequence by the artist. Beyond 200 pieces it is considered “Mass produced” and doesn’t fall under Fine Art anymore.

When will she be ready for sale?

We are looking for the statue to be ready to actually sell by Q1 of 2008. We will have a prototype to show around January/February.

What will the statue be made of?

She will be made of various materials but mostly from bonded marble, which is an extremely durable material. In essence it is a urethane resin mixed with a fine ground statuary marble powder.

The statue will be cast solid as opposed to being cast hollow, which is much more fragile, like they do overseas. This piece will be a fine art “Museum” Quality sculpture. Hand cast, hand painted and hand mounted by artists here in our studio (not in China!).

Will she fully painted?

Yes! Tarot will be fully painted and fully assembled! She will feature a myriad of painting techniques including: blending, layering, washes and highlighting as well as subtle airbrush work. She will even have little details liker her Tattoo! All this will be protected under several coats of protective UV absorbing satin varnish.

Will the statue value over time?

Yes – because of the limited nature and the fact that she is made in our studio (so of much higher quality then you would find over seas) you can expect her to value over time.

Our previous statue of BloodRayne has already fetched more then double on the secondary market!

Where can we buy her?

You will be able to purchase Tarot directly from our online store at: www.martianfactory.com

Can I “Pre-order” one?

Unfortunately, because of the nature of how we work, we are not able to accept pre-paid pre-orders. In reality we will be fabricating the statues in small batches. Once each batch is ready to ship we will contact customers on the virtual queue.

This virtual queue will allow us to notify the fans first rather then allowing non-fans to buy one for flipping on Ebay etc... being on the queue is like being on a guest list. We want for the fans to get first dibs!

Should they wish to receive the statue they pay and we ship the sculpture to them. Should the customer not wish to purchase the statue at that time we go down the list to the next customer… so on and so forth. This way we don’t take any money upfront until the statue is ready to ship.

How do I get on the “virtual Queue”?

Send me an e-mail: claudio@martianfactory.com I will then send you a reply to let you know what number on the list you are, assuming, that there are still slots available.

If you didn’t receive a reply from me in 48 hours please contact us as I may have not received your e-mail: 1-866-819-9949 (Us & Canada) or 905-850-2831 everywhere else.

How many slots in the virtual queue have already been filled?

So far as of November 27th, 2007, 112 slots have been filled and counting...

Will I be able to find her in a store?

We are currently talking about this right now with Broadsword Comics. We may choose to sell through a select few stores according to Broadswords Recommendations but we have no confirmation on this yet.

Will you ship to Europe/ Asia/ Australia?

Yes – we have no problem with shipping overseas.

more to come...
