How did you start reading Tarot?
How did you come upon Tarot, or any of the Broadsword Books?
For Me:
Like most of us I was a huge Catwoman fan, however I was young, and didn't really pay much attention to artists. Well, one day I was sick, and my Dad stopped to get me some Comics (my dad is a big comic fan as well), and he picked me up a Tarot! After reading it himself, he kept buying them for me.
Then one day a few years later, while working at a cute little goth/punk store in my town, I look over and see (you guessed it!) Jim and Holly!!! I flipped out, and got them to sign some stuff. Jim and I talked for awhile, and he got my number, then they asked me to write the fairy spell in the back of issue #23!
The rest is history! I help out the broadsword gang whenever they need me! ^_^
Okay, your turn, how did you find the magik of Broadsword?

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
For years my love of comics had been put on the backburner, well...actually it was more like put to a halt due to life circumstances and a partners huge lack of interest. I never, ever should've let that affect me, but anyway, I was blessed enough to meet a man who loved comic books as much as I and my whole world was opened up again. I started going with him on his weekly comic book trip and noticed that there were now a few books out there making an attempt to cater to pagan interests (i.e. The Coven). I'd buy them and be extremely disappointed. Then one day I walked into the comic shop and saw Tarot #1, bought it of course, and the rest is history. I had been a fan of Jim's long before that, so the fact that Tarot was his creation, was icing on the cake.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
well i was really impressed when Jim did Darkclaw in that DC/Marvel cross over, to this day i think it is one of the most beautifuly render comics of all time. latter he did supernaturals for marvel a mini seris featuring all the supernatural charaters i loved like ghost rider. When i went to the pittsburgh comicon i read the add and saw his credits posted so I went to the booth bought the comic and have been a reader ever since

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
It started with catwoman. I asked them at the comic shop few years ago, "Who drew that catwoman?" They said, "Jim Balent."
Then I found out that Jim is making his own comic books and I was really looking forward to it. I have all tarot issues, #1-30 and all two covers each.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
I was looking for something new to read. I came across Tarot in Previews. The artwork blew me away. Since I wasn't a DC reader and I really didn't know who Jim Balent was.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
I was a senior in HS (about 3 years ago) and was taking a belly dancing class after school. One of my friend's from school was in it and after class one day, she puilled out this really cool looking comic and I asked about it. Turns out it was the Beltane issue and I got such a kick out of the goofy artstyle and risque silliness and magick, I started looking for the other issues. The local comic shop didn't carry much Tarot or 3 Little Kittens, but I managed to nab the first trade paperback when it first came out. I now have a holding list at another comic shop and have purchased many back-issues from Jim and Holly's site.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
I started when me and a few friends went to a comics/hobby store out of town for our weekly Warhammer game, and I was looking around before the game while everyone was still setting up, and I saw the cover for Tarot #14. When I read it, I was hooked for life.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
It was shortly after Chaos folded. I was a big fan of Lady Death, and was upset when they went under.
So I started digging through Previews, hoping to find some kind of decent replacement.
And I finally noticed Tarot, whih I had somehow been missing for all this time. I realised it was by the same artist who had drawn that excellent Purgatori series for Chaos.
So I ordered my first issue of Tarot, thinking it just might be what I'm looking for.
It was #17.
It was absolutely hilarious. I loved it! That one issue was all it took. Now I'm hooked.

Re: How did you start reading Tarot?
Well, I wasn't allowed comic books as a kid, so I never had an interest in them. Two years ago I was in a very very extremely bad relationship (but of course did not see that while I was in it) and I was helping my boyfriend move. I came across Tarot issue 16 and was absolutely fascinated. I remember sitting on the couch just staring at those gorgeous illustrations and colors, and being so thrilled that someone did a comic book about my religion. When that relationship ended, I nabbed the comic and have been building my collection via the Broadsword website (and Comic Con) ever since. Along the way, I have converted two female friends and my current boyfriend. Muahahaha! I have also succeeded in making my parents very puzzled as to why there are black and whites of a scantily-clad and horned chick on my walls. *grin*
