Re: Tarot #56 in Stores NOW!
YAY! I finally got 55 and 56 (I should just stop waiting to buy the comics in bulk, and get every ETC as it happens). Let me just say- it was such fun! I kept getting distracted from the storyline by recognizing fellow Witch Key Women and friends of Broadsword, drawn as characters (you should've heard my awwwwwwing when I say Natasha and Byron.....awwwww!). You both draw and shade/color people so well, that I have no trouble recognizing the ones that I know, even as faeries and elves and whatnot. That's always a joy. And as storylines go, this one is quite full. It's ironic how Tarot's journey to confront her sister leads her on a path with so many actions (and future ripples of those actions, I'm sure), from meeting new witches and getting vaguely involved in lycanthrope tensions, to freeing elves and making a new potential enemy, to getting poisoned and losing Pooka. Er, to sleep, I assume. Hopefully. Don't kill Pooka! He's too cute to die!
I do often get the feeling that the gods put us on paths for the events we experience during the journey, not for any end result. It's nice to see that reflected in subtle ways through the Tarot storyline.
And, as always, you have some very inspiring words. I'm starting a journal of Tarot and friends' speeches, for some self-empowerment on those days when I'm feeling less-than-perfect. You do have some great ones- very inspirational!
Thanks again for a beautiful work of art (well, two really). I can't wait to see how Tarot gets herself out of this pickle, and why Raven took the book (I refuse to believe that she's being ignorantly destructive again...there must be some explaination). And, as always, can't wait to see you guys at San Diego Comic Con!
This year I'll have my friend Pat in tow, who is also a big (but quiet) fan. He's the one I'm always getting Raven Hex sketches from Jim for.
