Sorry wasn't trying to rub it in. I'm just excited that's all. This is the only convention we got to and honestly it's only because we live here.
I'd love to check out Dragon Con but Atlanta's a little far way for us.

Unfortunately, I will have to miss the Convention this year. I was looking forward to seeing Holly and Jim. And meeting ArtemisHi, fellow Serenity fan.

But my wife and I will be spending a week in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. My first longer than a day trip outside of the United States!

Everyone else, have an excellent time!

OoOoO! Enjoy Vancouver! We'll meet up next year, I'm sure (I'll be at the SoCal Browncoats booth...again). emoticon

Ah less than a week to go. Actually I won't be there until Friday. I wasn't able to get a costume of Fujiko together but I will be wearing my Tarot tee's emoticon
Can't wait to see everyone.

Read some news over at Newsarama!

quote:

Holly Golightly from Jim Balent's BroadSword Comics says, “We're shooting for a sketchbook but other that we're both be there and Jim and I will be sketching all Con long.

Jim Balent adds, “What's keeping me busy since Catwoman?

“After Catty, I jumped right into my next project, which was starting up my own comic company, BroadSword Comics.

“With Holly Golightly and our team of lawyers, we started BroadSword in the year 2000 with our first ongoing full color bimonthly title, Tarot Witch of the Black Rose.

“In the past six years, we added specialty projects such as art books, posters, T-shirts and new titles (Three little Kittens, VampFire and School Bites).

“In Sept., issue #40 of Tarot will hit the stands. We are very pleased that the book has gone this far and we are very thankful to our readers who have supported us.

“Where do we go from here?

“We go were our dreams and interest takes us. We will always have BroadSword to publish specialty project through. But we will also take in outside work as well.

“We are working on several projects now for outside sources. Some in the comic field, others not. We are working on five covers for Red Sonja, ( I will be penciling and inking the covers and Holly will be coloring them.)

“We took this project because Holly and I are great fans of Red Sonja. (Especially the Frank Thorne issues)

“At San Diego Con this year, we will have a new sketch book from Holly. The book is going to be called... Yeah I Drew It! It will have plenty of art from her pin-ups in Tarot and VampFire to new illustrations.

“We are looking forward to seeing everyone in San Diego.”

way to gooooooo

Love to see the next batch of Red Sonja as well as the Sketchbook-stuff!!

Comic Con 2006 was a great time, what a treat to get to meet Jim and Holly. I picked up some Tarot trades and also a Licorice Dust litho, Holly looked at my name badge and recalled that I had bought from the website (wow, good memory ^^) they were both also awesome enough to do a sketch for me in my book along with their autographs. Thanks Guys! ^_^

So very cool, here's to next year and another great con =)
