Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? I know you're having fun with Tarot, and I sincerely hope you never stop.
But I'm pretty certain DC would have you back in a heartbeat, if you ever suggested it.
And if they didn't want you, I'm pretty sure Marvel would snap you up.
Re: Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? I don't think DC would take him back. His art style is too...ahem...risque for their comics.
Re: Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? I don't think DC or Marvel would, they're a little too Prudish. Kind of wish that Jim could get some rights though to Catwoman and either do a crossover here or there or just acquire her all together but that's not gonna happen any time soon.
Am happy that Jim and Holly are running Broadsword! It's definitely one of the best companies in the business today!

Of course I love risque so...Yay Jim and Holly!
Sorry but that doesn't make any sense.
Before he was on Catwoman , he did 'From the
Darkness' and a slew of very sexy portfolios
from Sal Q and the editors there had seen them.
I also know other info that doesn't support your statement.
No snark at you sweetie at all...
I know these letters don't have inflection so just wanted to underline that
But as professional artist , it's understood what project you're workin on....
I drew Carnal comics and Betty & Veronica..
but obviously ...different content for different projects

It just seems like lately DC is swinging from prudish to eye candy and can't seem to decide what it wants to do with its female characters.
I have a hard time picturing the new 'realism' of Catwoman (which I personally hate) being combined Jim's style. Tarot is serious but not in the gritty way that a lot of their comics are geared towards now.
I used to really like their stuff, but it's become too hard. You and Jim do seriousness without it being all grit and pain. If that makes sense.
Though I would LOVE to see Jim banish the evil of Halle Berry's Catwoman
Re: Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? Just as an aside- I picked up a ToyFare yesterday and saw that DC is selling a statue of Catwoman "as inspired by Jim Balent's rendering of Catwoman". Pshkaw.

Re: Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? Lets see work for someone else whom can and WILL take your ideas and if you are truly lucky (or have a law firm like 7 savage Jews and a Protestant, my favorite firm under retainer) you will get a few crumbs and loads of distain! And remember, work for hire laws, they own it not you, even if you created the project. Why would anyone work for someone else rather then for yourself! And as for slaving for AOL Time Warner any right thinking, sentient being will most likely go ewwwwwwwwwwwwww while heading for the hills! Personally I think I'd hate seeing Jim work on the pablum projects that most corporate owned comic compaines produce!
Re: Are you ever tempted to go back to working for DC or Marvel? Excellent point, Gobby! I have u beat though! Jim should just create his maestro premia and then broadcast it on the net. Who needs copyrights?
