before Broadsword Maybe I'm not looking in the right spot but I can never seem to find a good list for JB's work before Tarot. I've already pieced together the Catwoman series and the Purgatori mini. What other books has JB done?
I saw a ad for Spoof comics that came out in 93'. It talked about "with famed artists such as Jim Balent." Had he already made it big with Catwoman by that point? Only other thing I've found before that was Wolverbroad and a Lita Ford cover.
Re: before Broadsword I must be looking in the wrong place? Boom?
Picked up a couple more issues today. The Astra cover, the Lobo spring break special, two of the Red Sonja covers JB did, and one of the Purgatori issues. Also managed to find one of the Vampfire issues under the Broadsword label, yay!!!
I ran across a Batgirl issue that had B's name on it but it didn't even come close to Catwoman. You could see some of the usual signatures in his work but they must have been begging him to hold back.
Re: before Broadsword Holly means BoomVavaVoom, a member here who has put together a very complete website regarding Tarot and Jim's previous works. It's here:

my fansite is mostly chronicling the TAROT-comics but there are some pics on the Balent-page as well...
Besides Catwoman and Purgatori Jim also did some Vampirella issues (the first color series by Harris, the ones called 'Dracula War" I believe...it ís collected in a TPB) as well as the LOBO SPRING BREAK SPECIAL.
A "Vampirella/Catwoman" was also done...andddd uuuhhmmmm....oh yeah!!
A "Catwoman Defender of Gotham" 2-part Elseworld-tale.
I have no recollection about other (interior that is) stuff he did.
