It's great to see this board started up! I saw the show in Sudbury on the 11th, and I thought it was great! I was one of the guys running the coat check.

15 minutes ago?! That's great! I really enjoyed your show and have been pushing your website to everyone I know. I really like the direction you take with your performance! There are definately big things ahead for your show!! When I develop the pics that I took from the show I'll scan them and e-mail you a copy if you want. Please let Countess Vanessa know that I give her great applause for eating those crickets. I had one after the show when I was talking to her and had the legs stuck in my throat all night...but it was good and juicy though.

Trust me...when I am in town...and not on tour...I am more than happy to check out the board.
I leave on tour for a couple weeks in 4 days...then I can only post when I am around a computer.
But...some of Diablo's performers will be accessable...so keep checkin back!

posticon Talk about interactive!

It's great to actually talk to performers in the show, as opposed to just fans who start a message board. Now this is the ultimate interactive experience! lol

I noticed some great props in your show (backdrops and such), did anyone in the show paint those or did you get them done?

Glad you asked!
I painted ALL the sets and built many of the props from scratch. Sideshow is such a specialized industry, that we cannot get things like Beds of Nails etc. at the local Sideshow Kwik-E Mart.
Another thing that I feel is important is the fact that our show takes place in the 19th Century...so I spend alot of time making the props look reeeeal fancy. Kinda like the detail that went into making The Lord of the Rings. They would spend weeks just fauxing a set of armour or creating a sword with beautiful etchings in it...this was done not just for the camera to pick up...but also for the performer that wore it. They felt like they were working in a REAL world...because of the care that went into the details. Carnival Diablo is a place where nothing is taken for granted. The sets , props, costumes and music have been carefully orchestrated to bring you one of the most Extravagant Sideshows in history! We are trying to create a World that you can fall into for a couple of hours...and a place that you have NEVER seen before!

The show you saw was small compared to the 1500 seat theatres that we play. We can fill a 30 by 50 stage with Beautiful sets and props and I take pride in the fact that we also carry things that keep the audience entertained before the show...such as Animatronic Robots. Yup...you ain't seen nuthin yet!

If you want to see a BIG Show come on out to the Thunder Bay Auditorium on February 21st. 2004
I will have a moving van full of equipment just for that nite alone!

Log onto our website and click on 'Tourdates'
you can keep up with where we will be...

Re: Welcome to the world of Carnival Diablo!

This awesome! Good job! I'm an artist myself. When I was looking at the website (which is how I found the message board), I noticed some awesome sets and props that weren't at the show. I was actually going to ask...but I guess you read my mind. Hmmm, now isn't that interesting! lol

I coming at a point in my life where I need to pick a direction. I'm 21 and I'll be done college in 10 weeks. I really like the world of the side show...and the opportunities it presents. I like the fact that you get to travel and meet all kinds of people. So my question is this...what does it take to break into the business? What's a good way to get started when you don't know where to start. I love theatre and am an exceptionally talented artist. I have acting capabilities. So where do I start? Where should I be looking? Sudbury isn't the most exciting town, but unfortunately I'm stuck here for now. Do you have any suggestions where I should begin?
