A Five-Minute Tattoo?!!
True story:
In the Navy, onboard ships and at Boot Camp, 5 minutes before "Lights Out", there's an annoucement over the PA system....."Tatoo, tatoo, (sp?)lights out in 5 minutes." It COMES from the Old English term "Tap-Toe", which meant the taps at the bar would close in 5 minutes, so if the patron wanted another drink, they had to go ahead & order before the bartender closed them. I can just see some new, green recruit going "Dude!!! I can get a tattoo in 5 MINUTES!!! I gotta SEE this guy! He must be AWESOME, Dude!!!" > ; )

actually you CAN get a five minute tattoo sailor...lol..they're called kanjis :P

I didn't get that last one. I was in the corps but they never made that anouncment. But there are several differances in the two branches.
