We were discussing disputable matters in the christian life. For example tattoos, drinking, and so on. One of the people in our Sunday School class brought up tats and how he has always wanted one but thought that it was a sin. I have 8 and want many more so I told him that I felt it was a personal matter and he had to search his own heart and make his own mind up. Their are to many closed minded people out there ready to send you off to hell if you have tats. In my personal life I have been able to witness to numerous people b/c of my tats. Anyway someone else in the class brought up this verse in Revelation. John is talking about the rider on the white horse. Verse 16 says "On his robe and thigh was written this title King of Kings and Lord of Lords". So it looks like even Jesus will have a tattoo. Ha! HA! I had never seen that before just wondering what all of you think about this verse.

That verse certainly doesn't give us a license to say that Jesus is tattooed, although it's cool to think that it does.
It might mean exactly that, it might not, however. So to automatically proclaim that it means that isn't really right.
It could mean it's embroidered on his jeans or something, too, you know....*chuckles*

This verse is taken in a lot of different ways. Some people think it's embroidered in His garments, some think that it's tattooed upon Him, some think it's just a divine mark that identifies Him, or that it's engraved in armor, or somesuch. One theory even states that these titles are encoded numerologically into the knots in the tzitzit on His tallit (Jesus was a Jew, after all).
It has, however, inspired tattoo designs marking the verse number and such. very interesting.
