Ah Bike Week...

... there are so many boys in leather chaps you'd think Gettysburg was having a Gay Pride Rally.

Re: Ah Bike Week...

Definately next year THIS is the week Im taking vacation.
I have nothing at all against motorcycles or anything, I have always loved the romanticism of a Harley, and I admit it, I have a thing for anyone in chaps because I am a born white trash ***** from Jersey and man it just must be in the blood or something.
A few weeks ago my friend from Texas came to visit and called these pseudo bikers R.U.B.s (for Rich Urban Bikers, which I roared at). I think that's the thing that really pisses me off about "Bike Week" in our little 'burg... very few actual 'gentlemen bikers' (Chuck Tabor, you old tramp, I miss you like no bodies business sometimes) and way too many R.U.B.s.
Harley's are beautiful things, but when they have fat rich white-collar types pretending to be 'outlaws' for the weekend (and succeeding only at being rude assholes) on them, they lose a lot of thier charm. You know the type; people who would look down thier noses at a real biker the same way they look down thier noses at the girl behind the counter at the tattoo studio when she has to inform them that we have been booked for this weekend for over a month.
Anyway... please don't take this thread in any way that I dislike motorcyles or our many polite, friendly, genuinely groovy clients who ride them. I wish I could enjoy Bike Week and check out some of the awesome machines that roll thru our town, but I'm always too busy dealing with the jerk-offs that Bike Week seems to bring with it to enjoy the festivities.
Next year... Vacation Week!!
