Does my Globe feel warm to you?

I have to admit, I'm completely confused by the politizied nature if the global warming debate. The part of me that loves the gloom and doom of things says, yeah, we've ****ed ourselves and are too stupid to realize it. The part of me that feels most everything I'm feed by mass media is double speak meant solely to obscure the reality of any given situation wants to dismiss the entire debate as more fodder for the evening news.
Finding information thats not political in nature seems impossible. And me, I could give a flying turd about the politics of practically anything. When information is filtered thru the political spin machine, finding the truth of a thing becomes more and more difficult. So who am I supposed to believe and where does my own rationality step in?
Trying to find facts doesnt seem to be entirely simple either. For each sentence I find putting forth one 'fact' I can find a completely opposing 'fact'. And all these 'facts' seem to be very much dependant on the authors' political position. Which pisses me off.
In ten years, if nothing's happened, will they take Al Gores Oscar away? In ten years, if NYC is flooded to the point of inhabitablity, will we be allowed to string up GWB for refusing to sigh the Kyoto Treaty?
I don't want spin, I want answers, but all the answers I hear are clouded in spin. Who do I believe? At this point... no one. What does my own rationality say to me? Be glad you've moved up to a mountain.

Ok, here's the poop on Global warming. Basically its more of a natural issue and human development with global warming as a result. but, global warming is nothing new. its happened over and over throughout time. The polar ice caps thaw, temperatures and sea levels rise, and climate changes. When uninfluenced species on earth have time to adapt. the usual process probably takes thousands of years of steady change with the strongest in a species surviving to breed and expand as well as survive the changes. What makes this time different is the fact that human development has sped thing up a bit so that what took thousands of years is now half that and speeding up. what took animals thousands of years to adapt to now have less than half that to do it in which is nearly impossible. the gloom and doom is true and will happen. several species will become extinct which historically has happened before but this time we will see it as more wide spread. Will humans become extinct? probably not. we have to intellegence and adaptability to survive BUT, it will be a misserable existance for a long time.
They all have it right at one point or another they just need to put it all together. current climate models show that by 2050 this area of PA should have the climate of the savanna areas of california that are prone to forest fires and drought. The north and south poles are expected to look like pa today. As for temperature changes:the reason it doesnt really seem warm as of yet has to do with increased storm activity. more and more storms are developing and coming through the area. this drives the temperature down for the time being. as a result of these stroms the areas where they develop are becomeing drought prone which eventually will be transferred to us as the storms deminish. when this happens temps will begin to spike. I dont think its expected to rise above 120 or so in the summer.
anyway, not the bearer of gloom and doom and we'll all be dead before it gets to bad. just hope to explain things abit. I'm not just a paramedic but an ecologist who does EMS on the side. I dont care for politics either its just another way to BS about things when they should just do it. SHow me a government who is actually for the people and I will be there waving a flag.
