Hey Josh
Really, there isnt a natural way to 'thicken' your lobes. The best thing to do when the lobes start looking thin is to **gasp** remove your jewelry for a while (anywhere from a few weeks to a few months... I left out my previously 1/2" piercings for about a month and a half. They closed down to 6g and I have only taken them back up to 00g). This will allow the holes to shrink a bit, remove the stress to the thinning tissue for a while by letting the tissue relax a bit. This doesnt really 'thicken' your lobes, but it does allow the tissue that may be thinning due to the stress of the constant stretch or weight of jewelry a chance to recover a bit. Remember with stretching, slow and steady wins the race. Three steps forward and two steps back still puts you one step ahead.
When your jewelry has been out for a couple weeks, massage your lobes daily with vitamin E oil. It will help strentghen and repair your lobes.
You could go the plastic surgery route, and have your holes sewn shut a bit, and then once that were healed you could conceiveably continue stretching, however, a surgeon is going to be pricy. And finding one in this area willing/able to do this for you might be your biggest challenge.
You're not doomed to have to "stay where you're at", but I would say to slow it down or even back it up a little before going foward. 1" is an impressive achievement -- don't **** it up now emoticon
