The Bush Legacy....

When president Clinton took office he had the benefit of a House of rep that had been under Democrat control going back to WWII...

Yet his only real lasting legacy was to lose the House to the Republicans....and it was because he lost this important voice of support that all of the investigations into his life took place.

Had the Dems kept the House there would NEVER have been any talk of impeachment.

NOW, we are about to see the same thing with our President Bush...
I have been thinking and as far as I can tell, there will be all kinds of investigations into the Bush war in Iraq...and all it's going to take is the suggestion that Bush knew, or should have known that there were no WMDs to be found in iraq, and there will be such a calling on both sides of the aisle for Impeachment that Bush would have to step down.

There is just no way Bush could justify sticking around in office knowing that the country is going to go through hell because of the war/impeachment.

And even though Im a republican, I have to admit that the way Bush has lost the war in Iraq has to has to have some consequences.

The way even after it became clear that Iraq didnt have squat for WMDs he didnt fire anyone,,,this shows me that Bush just does not have a clue what to do, and is afraid to get rid of his friends/staff.

But a president has to be a leader, not a friend, to the people that work for him...

He has to be able to look people in the eye,,,to tell people that they better be right or they are gone.....

A president has to be a guy who knows the value of hireing guys who know what they are doing....and fireing guys who dont.

I also think that if Bush was told before all the war in Iraq started that there was little chance the Iraq government had WMDs, that Bush would then need to be indicted for causeing the deaths of so many brave America

I think the final Legacy will be 2 years or more of hearings on the hill as congress gets the the bottom of the Iraq/WMDs mess....

along with North Korea getting the Bomb,,,I see Iran getting the BOMB too, with little left for this president to do to stop them.

The other legacy will be the way the world looks at America now,,,we are seen as "past our time"..we are no longer seen as a Super Power,,,more like now just a place thats confused and powerless to stop it's leaders...

The other Legacy is that we are now shown every country in the world how to beat America in a war.....Even the smallest country now can look to Iraq and see a way to defeat America...

The position of America in the world is now under the leadership of smaller countries like France and Germany. as compared to our position when Bush took office...Infact God help the next American president that tries to go to war without France in our corner....

Re: The Bush Legacy....

At this time before this next election, I give the odds at about a 75% chance that the Dems will take over one House of congress...and about a 45 % chance of taking over control of both houses.

If the Dems do take over one house, then we dont have to worry about any future Bush Legacy, for the news for the last part of the Bush White House will be mostly just the hearings that will be broadcast nearly night and day of TV.

If on the other hand, the Dems dont get control of congress at all, Then what I believe will be the biggest change will come in the form of the Republican party leaders getting Bush to back us out of the war in Iraq before the next presidentual election.

Also, if the Dems cant gain control of even one house of congress, there would need to be a lot of changes for if they could not win this time, when could they ever...
