Re: About Brother Jerm
very true...
I help run the CUSA forum, and I have noticed that the one constant problem I always have to face is "Getting people to calm down!"
Because Im incharge, I send a ton of PMs pushing some of the old timers of the forum to post with better manners.
I try to push them to stop the banging on the table posts where they condemn everyone else on the forum to Hell.
I'm not sure why people get so mad at the slightest things while on the computer?...
could it be because we cant hear the lilt in a person's voice so we never understand that someone is just kidding us?
I don't know...
What I do know is that the way so many Christians that we find on my forum are so fast to get mad at others, that this has got to spell trouble in other parts of their life as well.
Getting a reputation as a person who gets mad and easily offended online is not a Christian virtue...
If being here on your forum , or on other forums is not making you more easy going, more forgiving, more able to turn the other cheek, type Christian then why go on line?
In my own case I believe my time here and on other forums has made me more stronger to face challenges with ease, more able to receive without answering in kind....more a reflection of the type of person I aim to become with Christ's help.
From time to time, I have to put a BLOCK on a really bad poster,(even if they are a brother in Christ) that simply cant post on my forum without becoming so angry that I find they cant stand to even be spoken to about the weather without getting upset.
I just don't see why such posters make themselves so worked up over the things they read, when they have a long history of finding the very same types of posts wherever they are on line......very strange...

Re: About Brother Jerm
I face the same problems too from time to time...
I will be told about a poster that used some bad words. and normally I would just clean them off, but because I was at work when this happend and didnt get to the forum for about 8 hours, the bad words are now the topic for about 10- 20 other posts from other people...
I clean off the bad post, but then my whole topic conversation is unclear as everyone seems to be talking in code about a unseen post....
But in the end, what else can I do?
oh, and could not a poster who was mad at this forum, go and clean off his own posts anyway?....asking others to do it for him is a bit lazy,,,,,

That is true, but I'm not sure he could do that after being banned as he wished me to do.
I did notice BJ banned me from his board too, because I raised questions and doubted his foundation. That was the first time I've ever been banned from somewhere in all the years I've been on BB's. My belief is he could not handle the truth and fears others that point out his many errors.

I would not ban BJ from your board. Being banned was not his request. Being removed was. To me that means destroying his personal data and his email notification. To ban him is to censor him - not something an American patriot, which you are, should do.
Deleting his past posts is denying the truth of the past. He said what he said - it is part of the history of this board and should not be altered.
Being banned from his board is not surprising. He had a problem with any questioning of his doctrine. A valid doctrine should be able to withstand questioning.
I am not going to let this opportunity pass without getting my dig in on conservatism. I see a parallel here. In the framework of the division in our country, I see the same intolerance for dissent from conservatives as BJ exhibited towards us who questioned his beleifs. Just because we disagreed with him does not place us in the camp of the devil. Within the same context, disagreeing with the war in Iraq adn GW does not make one anti-American.
Sincerely,
#s

Re: uestions
Numbers,
There is no way I can I can/could have removed his personal data or his email notification and as a Runboard administrator BJ knows this or should have since he knows enough to produce a custom board. You see, his is a "Global Account" (as is yours) giving you access with the same name to hundreds or thousands of Runboard BB's. So in fact he was asking me I believe to ban him or as DQ pointed out, maybe removing all his posts.
I was banned from his board even though to my knowledge I broke none of his rules intentionally, yet he came here and broke mine from the start.
The only thing that I did that came close to breaking his rules, was my Statue of Liberty logo at the bottom of the page, which goes with my global name too which was created for this board. You see he allows no "EVIL PICTURES".
The logo to my knowledge I could not turn off just for his board, though he may have been able to, I'm not sure. BJ should also have known why it was there, and in fact I apologized in my first post for this intrusion and hoped it would not be a problem.
As to your dig, I think that is another topic and I would gladly partake of that on the subject of your choosing!

Re: About Brother Jerm
OK - I undrstand and support your position except - don't "ban" him. He did not ask to be banned. In the spirit of free speech I hope you do not eliminate him. He probably will not return anyways.
