I recently purchased this film and I must say what a great film it was. The whole thing was spectacular.

I know it didn't get very high ratings and the cry was it was a pro-Muslim piece of propaganda which rewrote history, but from what I can tell and the historical information on the DVD, it just doesn't do that.

There are graphic blood spurts, but the feel of realism puts it into its place with the use of cutting instruments like swords. Other than that, I thought it was great if you like the knight era like I do.

You may find it on sale at Best-Buy for under ten bucks--I think I paid around $7.00 for it there.

Anyone else care to comment on this film?

Thanks for the information on the film.
  I skipped it because people said that it was anti Christian. There's so much of that out there today that I avoid films with that kind of viewpoint. I think I'll add it to my Netflix list.

I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings, and I thought that Orlando did a good job in that film.

Yeah, I was kind of like you and the main reason I didn't go see it either. The Roman Church is made to look a little foolish in the film in one or two lines in particular, but I think it leans more towards how ignorant people were in those days rather than being anti-Christian. At least that is how I felt.

Kera, I think Lord of the Rings were the best movies ever produced that I have seen. They have such strong moral principles in them. I found each to have principles that many films today lack, like good vs bad without the blur, bravery, self sacrifice, honor, etc. Orlando is great in Kingdom of Heaven too.
