Computer Help Links!
I keep trying to help folks with their computer problems and always have to go hunting for the links. I figured I'll kill some birds with this one and start posting good help links on this thread.
To make sure that no one comes here and posts some bad stuff I'm going to make this a closed thread for your security. If you find a good one, send me an email or a PM and I'll post it with credit due to the sender.
All links then are "Conservative" approved!-LOL
----------------------------------------
Ad-Aware: For removing spyware (you may not know, but this is a major problem), this is one of the best and free: http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button
----------------------------------------
Spybot-Search & Destroy: Here is another spyware remover and many feel running this one along with Ad-Aware is complimentary to one another with one finding things the other does not. But the user interface is a little more complicated than Ad-Aware. free: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
-----------------------------------------
Norton: For online virus checking, this one seems to work well, but takes quite a while depending on your connection speed. Also Free! You can test your firewall here too!: http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&close_parent=true&bhcp=1
----------------------------------------
Panda ActiveScan: This is another online scan that detects viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, and more. Though on my newest PC I can not get this to work for some reason, you might give it a try though. Free: http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

Okay, here is another one I had posted on the front page of my site. This one will do an online search specifically for "Trojans". Also free!

This one is real neat, because you can use it in forums like this one. It's a free spell-check program that works in Internet explorer for checking your spelling in posts like this one: http://www.iespell.com/download.php
----------------------------------------
This will be an ongoing venture I'm sure!
