The Constant Gardener
Anyone know of any upcoming movies?
I just stumbled upon one that looks alright. The trailer doesnt say too much; Looks like it takes place in Africa, and mentions a death, billions of dollars, pharmaceutical corruption and corporate murders. Could be really good, could be alright.

In theatres August 26.
Anyone have any other new movies?

I recommend renting Life Aquatic if you haven't already.
I thought War of the Worlds was interesting but overall mediocre.
hmmm......

I Heart Huckabees
I was skeptical at first, but "I Heart Huckabees" won me over. Definitely a good movie about the truth-seeker, and how masters do their work.

Re: The Constant Gardener
Yeah, I Heart Huckabees won me over as well. Just remembered another movie. This one is made by the same folks who made Waking Life:
A Scanner Darkly is based on the Philip K. **** novel. I havn't ready any of his books, but heard some pretty crazy stuff, lol. could be interesting. Has Keanu Reeves in it and uses similar rotoscoping vector techniques that was used in the making of Waking Life.

Re: The Constant Gardener
This is kinda interesting. Part movie, part activist package. A new movie called Syriana scheduled to be released in the fall of this year will host a call to action. At the film’s conclusion, the audience will be encouraged to participate in the TerraPass program. While the long-term impact of the program, which allows drivers (and non-drivers) to purchase and retire CO2 emissions credits, is TBD, it is certain that participants are eager to find a solution to America’s naïve approach to the Kyoto protocol. Read more about the upcoming film at the Participant Productions website.

Re: The Constant Gardener
Funny funny, WorldChanging has just got a new contributor.
"Micki Krimmel is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she a veteran of the indie side of the film industry and the Director of Internet Outreach at Participant Productions (Jeff Skoll's very cool new production company, dedicated to bringing forward films that matter, whose motto is "Changing the world, one story at a time"), she's also the brains behind the blog Red Carpet. What's more, she's tons of fun, super-smart and packs more energy than the average hydrogen fuel cell.
Micki's going to be reporting on the side of Hollywood we don't hear enough about -- the worldchanging side: people who are making film and television which challenges us to think about the planet's problems and imagine their solutions. So, please, ladies and gentlemen, a big round of applause for Micki, and worldchanging culture!"

Re: The Constant Gardener
I saw this a couple of days ago:
It was so so....pretty good computer generated gods. Pyramid spaceships and intercourse.

Before that I finally saw "The Aviator". Most of it I thought was cool. Got a bit weird towards the end.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp is at his weirdest, and it's great.
