 1st gold of 2006
Howdy All,
I dug a nice 10K earring today at Belmar. Had a mixed low / mid / high tone on my CZ. I removed a piece of surface iron (tons of nails everywhere) and checked again. Viola! The tone improved to mid / high. Dug down about 8 inches to find it. Same spot other hunters had already scanned over several times.
There were soooo many people hunting today on the beach. It was the first time I have ever felt crowded at the beach in January. :-) When the rain came most cleared out. Gave me a little elbow room to find the clad in the already pounded areas by removing nails and digging mixed signals. Sadly, no old coins. Fun day overall.
