Blaze Audio

http://www.blazeaudio.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ulti....cgi?category=5 will take you to a forum that discusses various aspects of music education especially with relation to technology

Here is a copy of the email I got advertising it.. I joined and it looks like a good forum.

begin quote:

Dear Darlene Marquardt,

Blaze Audio has recently opened an online discussion area for Music Educators, with special attention to the uses of technology in Music Education. We want to enable discussions by and between Music Educators and technology developers all over the world on a wide variety of topics related to their profession and invite you to take part by clicking on this link:

The discussion groups are being moderated by Celia Rosenberger, a former member of the first violin sections of the San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, and St. Paul Chamber Orchestras. She studied with Szymon Goldberg in London and has a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Mills College in Oakland. She has been a member of the string faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory and has taught violin, viola, cello, piano, string bass, clarinet, flute, recorder, and saxophone for 30 years. She has particular interest in music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, and has won numerous awards.

She will be aided by Devendra Parakh, Blaze Audio's VP of Engineering and the guiding technological genius behind the success of Singing Electrons and Blaze Audio, and Tom Jeffries, Chief Blazing officer of Blaze Audio and trumpet player (former principal, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and San Jose Symphony, recordings with Dave Brubeck and others) and teacher. We may add a few more moderators- please let us know if you are interested.

We're starting out with three topics: Pedagogy and Literature, use of Technology in Music Education, and general discussion of anything related to teaching music. Please let us know if you have other topics to suggest.

Blaze Audio also provides a wide range of tutorials and information pages as well as a large glossary covering various aspects of digital audio, converting tapes and records to CDs, and other topics. We're working on a major tutorial about recording acoustic and school band instruments. You can find more by clicking on:

The tutorials reference our excellent set of music and audio related software products but are useful no matter what tools you use.

We look forward to seeing you online!

Thanks, Tom Jeffries
Chief Blazing Officer
