Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * *ADDED 3/25 ** Belittled (3/15/2006)
I have been dismissed
Set aside
Like an unruly child
Butting in on a grown-up conversation
My thoughts belittled
Trivialized
I am angry
But will say nothing
Only observe you
Afraid of another rebuff
Perhaps I will leave with my hurt
Never knowing if it was intended
The way I felt it
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge Oddly enough it is mostly about a bad experience on another board but some things at that time with hubby did play into it as well.
I'll post more soon. I need to write them in word first. I usually end up writting them in notebooks or sraps of paper, even envlopes or napkins as soon as I think of them, then change them a bit later if needed.
I have a couple ready I'll post next.

Stale Coffee and Memories
The apartment smells like stale coffee
in spite
of the scented candle
burning
I’ve hardly eaten all day
An e- mail from a friend a month since
Passed away
Saying she wouldn’t stay another winter
Memorial the first week of spring
I cry for the past
How much of you
I never knew even after 20 years
things I never asked or have forgotten
that no-one else can know
These will haunt me, but
So will the happiness
Of our many adventures
(So I wrote this a couple weeks ago about loosing my friend Anna who passed away from cancer 12/14/05)
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge It's nice to know I was able to touch people with that. I know it is a sad thing and I was trying to express that but also the friendship that brought us joy.
Thank You.
You can probably tell I use my poetry for more serious emoitons and thoughts. And humor in my stories. I may start another thread for my occasional humorous poems.
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge Deni, I love ya too, sweetie. You are such a great person and I feel blessed to have met you, and to have the pleasure of reading your work. It's an honour.
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge So this is for and inspired by Loretta and her lovely story “How Do I Love Thee?”
After I read it and wrote my comment to her yesterday. I thought that one line I wrote her should be part of a poem
so I sat and wrote it… and here it is…
Romantic Longing
4/11/06
Where are you my love?
The one I long for
The one who tugs my heartstrings?
And makes them sing a song of
Sweet romantic longing
Hopelessly caught up in dreaming
Of a feeling beyond reality
Of love’s perfection
Always denied, never attained
But in my heart
For all eternity
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge I just read all of these, they are really good! You're very talented!
My favourite was the second one about your friend, I'm so sorry for your loss.
And, I hope you've found some new friends on here...I feel like a friend of yours, so keep up the excellent writing. I think it helps prossess your feelings.
See you around, sweetheart!
Love,
Cecilie
