Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge

quote:

Lady LaRouge wrote:

So this is for and inspired by Loretta and her lovely story “How Do I Love Thee?”
After I read it and wrote my comment to her yesterday. I thought that one line I wrote her should be part of a poem
so I sat and wrote it… and here it is…

Romantic Longing
 4/11/06

Where are you my love?
The one I long for
The one who tugs my heartstrings?
And makes them sing a song of
Sweet romantic longing
Hopelessly caught up in dreaming
Of a feeling beyond reality
Of love’s perfection
Always denied, never attained
But in my heart
For all eternity

 emoticon

So I finally saw this...and fell in love with it. I think it captures Annette's longing for Mr Bloom quite well, doesn't it? I think it's also a feeling that everyone can relate to...and when that longing is finally satisfied, there can be nothing sweeter than that feeling of completion. emoticon

I'm am thrilled you love this Loretta. emoticon

You story just stirred such romantic feelings in me. emoticon

I don't write romatic poems as often. I did write one last week inspired by Orlando (and have a couple others). Maybe I'll post it.

Don’t know the exact date I wrote this. It’s my bad habit with my poems to put them on a bit of paper or in a book with no date.
Even after years of telling myself to ALWAYS date stuff, I still don’t always do it.
But anyway I wrote this after discovering a place to listen to Viggo’s spoken word poetry.

Listen 2/06

Noise of traffic
    from the turnpike
I wait patiently to hear your voice
    in my still room
Soothing in your absence

Yet your true presence
     I will never know

Deni, I'm SO SORRY I never read this till now. I am kicking myself cos you are super talented (like Viggo) and your work always amazes me. Seriously, you should consider trying to get some of this stuff published.

I loved the last two lines of the poem, cos it threw everything else (in the poem) into chaos. Everything seemed to make sense up until that point, and that's why I loved this.

Thanks for sharing this with is. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad you saw this, you never know when I might post something.
And thanks for compairing me to Viggo. I hope I may have somewhere near that amount of talent.
Because you know how much I admire him. emoticon

When I was about 20 I wondered about getting some of my poetry published but didn't really know where to go. I think I would like to look into it again. Now you have to be wary of those pay to publish scams though.

When I wrote this I thought about one I wrote about about calling a friends answering machine to hear his voice. I hope it turns up. I only remember part of it as it was 14 or so years ago.

Dance of Desire 5/11/06

I want to feel my hand on the warm pulse at the back of your neck
Touch the edge of your hair
Caress your strong shoulders
Feel your manly arms embrace me
Hold your head to guide your lips to mine
Full, Lush, Ripe, Sensual
To taste a piece of heaven
As we melt together
In one exquisite moment

No word of a lie, but this gave me GOOSEBUMPS! I especially loved this part:

To taste a piece of heaven
As we melt together
In one exquisite moment

I LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!

Deni, I swear, I am so envious of your poetry. You are incredibly talented. I think you should send some of your work to Viggo's publishing company and see what kind of response you get. Seriously, THINK ABOUT IT.

On a last note, I can tell you REALLY love Hugh's lips, and who the hell can blame you?! I mean, they are the most perfect lips in the entire world! emoticon

I am SO happy 'TSD' inspired you to write this. Thanks so much for posting it! emoticon

Thank you Lolo. I'm am glad you like my poetry so much.
I feel they are reavealing and sometimes hesitate to share (a bunch sitting around wating to be decided on and typed).

I have several other romantic ones recently as well which is so odd to me because I rarely wrote them before.

I really don't know where to take/send them Viggo's company is not accepting anything now. People used to tell me that in high school too. So I do beleive they are good.
I do like people to read them because often ones I like least are ones others like best.

So thanks again and if you hear about anyplace to send them let me know.

This is a bit of a strange one - I wrote just now as someone new commented on "The London Stage" and try as I might inspiration has been slow, but I am frequently thinking on it, so... I wrote this and left it on that thread...

Waiting on the Flame 5/12/06

I have not abandoned thee in this my friends,
though you may well be justified to think I had.

My muse is slow to stir things in the pot
but yet this while they simmer on the embers of the fire.

When shall the brew be ready, none may say
but she who is the cook and tends the flame.

Always with great but such long waiting devotion
and loving intent worthy of heavens most lofty saints.

But there it waits the final seasonings of care
Util it shall be brought quite done, here unto you.

To give times creativity it's due.

Well you know I've been feeling crappy emoticon
I've never really written poems about my illness before but today they came poring out about 5 of them.
Here it the first one, I'll type the others as I can. They may help you to understand me when I get like this or maybe not emoticon
But I decided I'd share them....

Taken 5/17/06

Can I have Nothing
Get Nothing
Be Nothing
Every step forward is blocked by pain
Every joy taken from me by the thief of disease
Every happy thought
Replaced by despair
I am refused even the smallest comforts
I am forbidden to express the things
That make me
Who I am
I’ve begged in vain for even the smallest scrap
OF MERCY

And just when I think the gift has been granted
It is snatched away
Leaving me more desperate than before
Alone

With nothing of who I am
And no hope for what I could be
I once again am left
With emptiness
Of what has been taken away
MY HOPE
