Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge Ahh... and thanks to the mysterious and motivating Becky....I've typed up one from last fall I remember really liking at the time- still do.
Away From Summer 9/1/06
The first yellow leaves
A bright splash in the drainage gully
Horse chestnuts
Lime green
Rolling
Resembling tennis balls
I reallylike that poem. It captures how subtly the seasons creep up on us, until suddenly you wonder how you missed those first signs. Obviously you observe nature quite closely, cos you didn't miss those signs, which perfectly describes the slide from warm and sunny to cool/cold and cloudy that IS summer to autumn.
I hope you find even more gems as you sort through your collection to share with us!
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * **some added 2/23* So cool Deni! How many times have we collected flowers (as kids and adults)in jars to make your world a bit prettier for a day or so!
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * **some added 2/23* glad you liked that one as well - the imagery of nature often inspires me.
Did I put that one "Strange Nature" on here? I'll have to go back and check.
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * **some added 2/23* I don't think I ever did share this here but it's been typed up for ages and I like it so thought I must have...
Strange Nature (Early March 2006)
I Held the camera in the bitter wind
Sharper than I expected
Icicle fingers
Burning
Power of the day
Driving me
Red grass
Tree stump
Inspires me
Hawks circle
New fly on the windscreen
Strange nature
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * **some added 2/23* Just awesome again, Deni. I can feel that wind and the struggle to hold the camera as nature carries on...
Re: Poetry by Deni aka Lady LaRouge * **some added 2/23* I almost passed over this! LOL The pink and purple layout makes it hard for me to see.
But I will read these and share my thoughts when I can, babe! I really do love reading poetry. It's amazing how much a person can convey in so few words.
