Christian friends
I everyone....it's the season for giving thanks and I just had to share a thought with you. About 5 years ago I made a move across state and my first prayer was to find a church home. Secondly I prayed to find "Christian friends". See, I had many good friends who were and still are good people but they don't live a Christian lifestyle. My Spiritual life was changing as my walk with the Lord grew. I knew I needed to make changes in the people I surrounded myself with because I was weak and needed the accountabliity as well as just being with people who understood my joy in the Lord. The move gave me this opportunity.
Well, God did answer my prayers. We found a wonderful church on just the second try, and I have found some very wonderful, and supportive friends (one who has become especially close) there and in my workplace.
I just want you to know how much a part of my prayers you all are. I look forward each evening when I sign online to our friendship and fellowship here, the laughter, teaching, and the sharing of our lives and our faith. I have felt comfortable enough to share many things with you and have gained your insight, support and prayers. Thank you all so much!!!
God has truly blessed me!

You are indeed blessed, I left my home church of 6 years in Late April and have yet to find another. We have visited about 6 Church's in our area and one we went to about 4 times but it didn't work out. We are still searching and praying. In early April the band I was with split, now that was hard, I really loved helping to lead people in worship. I have been asked by 3 bands just in the past 4 weeks if I could help them out. 2 of the bands were Praise and Worship bands of church's that I had visited, I turned them down. The 3rd was a touring band that needed a backup bassist for several events they had scheduled within 200 miles of where I live. I accepted that one and I pray that God will allow me to serve Him with this band. I still need a home church.....Ya'll pray that I find one and sooooon!

Re: Christian friends
Hum thanks so much for sharing that with us.
I have found accountability to be key in maintaining a relationship with Christ. Your account is encouraging.
Free, it sounds as if your life has been a bit shaken up.
You could always move here to Western Washington.
We have been without a bassist for more than a year.
. Keep us updated and let us know how your search for a new church family goes.

Why don't you play bass again, you know it takes more talent to play 4 or 5 strings than 6.
That is exactly why I don't play bass. Much easier to play chords on the 6-string, than keep up with all the fingering needed to be a decent bass player.
