"Skeptical" friends
I have these friends at church, and....at least one of them used to believe in God, but now she's going wayside. These three girls smoke pot. The use it as a release...to get away from their problems. They aren't mean or angry about their lives, they're nice and friendly. One girl is open to hearing the Gospel and sharing with our roup about Jesus. They aren't...unaccepting of it, but two of them just don't care what happens to their souls when they die. last week our small group was talking with them and they set up a pretty good argument about why the do what they do. What can we say to people like this? Please ask questions of you have them....I probably wasn't totally specific.

I find it interesting that you say they are in church and at least one of them used to believe in God. If she doesn't believe why is she in church? Smoke Pot to get away from their problems! I have to say that smoking pot is just the beginning of their problems.
What kind of arguments do they have that you feel is pretty good?

Re: "Skeptical" friends
Free04- I think they come to see friends and hang out, or their parents make them go. I'm not sure why exactly she comes to church still- I'll try asking her.
Staybrite- they're all about 15.

This might explain quite a bit, apathy is rampant among teenagers (and yes I remember being rather apathetic as a teen myself). As a teen I abused alcohol and marijuana my self. Even infrequent use of marijuana, will cause many people to feel depressed. It reduces your synaptic nerve responses, and makes you appear dumber than you truly are (I witnessed this first hand in my best friend). While your friends might claim that they do not care what happens to them when they die, they really do. It is just the drugs or the apathy (or both) talking.
Whatever the reason, do not give up on them. Nobody truly wants to spend eternity in hell, and right now you may be the only person trying to convince them of that.

Re: "Skeptical" friends
Thanks for talking about this with me.
There is another girl in our group, a few years lder than the rest of us, and she's been is discussion with them....trying to figure out why they belive the way they do. I mostly listened....I wasn't sure what to say to them. But I'm praying for them- that, through attending church and being a part of our small group, that they can turn their hearts around.

Re: "Skeptical" friends
That is good to hear.
Sometimes when a person is not receptive (or not willing) to recieve the truth of Christ, the only thing we can do is pray that God will reveal the truth to them, and give them a desire to recieve salvation.

Re: "Skeptical" friends
Yes, that's pretty much all I myself can do. They're all nice girls and I hope that they'll see the error of their ways.

Re: "Skeptical" friends
Well I don't know if this will help now but try using the Bible as a teaching tool for your friends. For example, you could have a group discussion on:
quoting Proverbs 1:27-33
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
This could lead them to open up and really talk about those things which are destroying their lives along with what answers Solomon found as he returned to God...
