At The Gate
Hi,
I was getting ready to start a posting on this scripture and comparing it to the New Testament church order but I don't have time to do it right now... Sooooo... I am posting the scripture first to see if anyone has any thoughts or comments for the scripture during the day and then we shall see where to go  .
2 Chronicles 8:14 And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

OK enough time has gone by that someone should have picked up on this ...
In the Old Testament passage we find:
1. The Priests
2. The Levites
3. Porters
The priests to minister the Word.
The Levites to praise God and minister to the Priests.
The Porters to watch after the gates (ie to take care of the Temple provisions for everyone who came).
Now in the New Testament we see:
Acts 6:2-4 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
Now we have:
1. All the disciples supporting the church
2. The first deacons serving all who came
3. The Apostles (soon to include pastors) ministering in prayer and preaching the Word...
So what else can we see?

So, it would seem to be a learning opportunity.
Maybe after I learn some stuff here, I can do better in your next quiz.
