THE WORD for September 4
Receive Mercy
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. (1Tim 1:15)

You and I have nothing of ourselves to prove. "For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Mat 9:13)
No appointment necessary. There is no waiting line.
Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb 4:16)
Mature believers know their constant need and rely on Jesus for it. We are learning our place. He alone is worthy- let us live believing in His love. Let us draw near.
Lord Jesus, without you we can do nothing. As you call, help us to believe your love and to draw near to your throne. Here Lord we receive your mercy and find your favor. Heal our sin sick hearts, Lord Jesus, so that we would rest in you more and more. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Mark 2:17)
We have God's Word on it.
